EMILY JANE:  Q/A

Joshua Puit

Jan 10, 2015

How long have you been singing and playing guitar?

I learned to play the guitar when I was 12 and I've been singing since I was little.

What are your plans with music?

I plan to sell my music, and I'd love to play it live for crowds of people who want to hear it, hopefully that's a lot of people, but I'd be content with a few.

What do you do outside of music?

Outside of music I love cooking, photography, traveling, and writing.

How does it feel to receive such positive feedback from viewers/fans? Do you ever get negative comments?
Quite often I'm so speechless as to the type of positive feedback I'm getting; it's really over whelming to feel like you're doing something good.

I do get negative comments.  I actually like to read them with my sister, we just laugh at them.

What gave you the idea to film your videos in the bathroom?

The acoustic sound is nicer in my bathroom than in my room, or any other room in my house, and also I quite like the background.

Is TeeRoy your boyfriend? If so, how long have you two been together? And how did you meet?

TeeRoy is my boyfriend and we've been together for over a year and a half. We actually have known of each other for most of the time I have lived in NZ, but during his last year of high school and my second to last year, we both landed the lead roles in our schools musical production and that's where we really took notice of each other.  Acting as if you're in love with someone really makes you see them in a different light; we became really good friends and then we fell in love.

Do you plan on collaborating with other musicians?
I'd love to collaborate with Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith and so many more artists.

You're from England and now live in NZ, what had you move there?

I moved to New Zealand because my step dad was offered a job over here. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do so far in my life.  I left one of my sisters, my dad, and basically all of my family and friends; but it has been absolutely amazing living over here and I've learned so much more about the world that I wouldn't know if I wasn't given the opportunity.

You put in your descriptions "keep on dreaming, dreamers"; what are your dreams?

My dreams are to be happy, write music that people like to listen to and like singing along too. My dream is to inspire people like I am inspired by the musicians that I listen to now.
